The bond. A bond between fliers and Underlanders. When the Underlanders first arrived in the Underland, they made an agreement with the fliers(bats). Each side saw the benefit of working together. So a bond was made. When a flier and human create a close friendship, fly together, train together, etc, they may choose to become bonds. Bonding means you never leave the other, not in any situation. You're sworn to protect each other to the death. The penatly of breaking a bond is banishment to the Dead Land. And no one survives there alone for long.
To bond, you clasp each other, hand in claw, and say a vow.
(name), the (type of creature, flier or human) I bond to you.
Life and death are on we two
In life and flame, in war and strife
I save you as I save my life.
Then, there would usually be a feast to celebrate the bond. You are allowed to bond with another member's character.
